Daumier, Honore
(2/26/1808 Marseilles-2/10/1879 Valmondois) (France)
   Painter, lithographer, sculptor, draftsman, and caricaturist. Studied with A. Lenoir and the Academie Suisse. Worked as an assistant to the lithographer Beliard. Became an extremely popular artist whose works of humble folk became icons of popular culture.
